SAM 0192

Bainage belongs to the Bain family, who live on the banks of the mighty uMhlatuze River in rural Zululand in an area called Mevamhlope. They love culture, adventure and special people and developing relationships. The Bains are totally convinced that education is vital, starting at grass roots. They are involved in Early Childhood Education and at present look after twenty-four creches. The future of our nation begins with the development of the whole child, from conception.

You will find the Bains to be a most hospitable family, playing host to volunteers, tourists, school and church groups etc. They are passionate about all they do and they are also committed to helping the less fortunate - especially orphans and widows.

The Bains are involved with an NPO called Izulu Ophan Projects. This mission work was initiated by Bain’s oldest son, Chadd, in 2001, but who tragically passed away in 2009 at the age of 34. His vision lives on though. To learn more about this or to volunteer, visit us and stay over at our upmarket Izulu Backpackers asap.
